Genetic genealogy research (DNA tests) is charged at my standard hourly rate, currently £50 per hour. For any required traditional (documentary) family history research to accompany the DNA work the hourly rate is the same.
Chargeable time includes time spent researching, analysing information and preparing reports, as well as time spent on telephone calls and writing emails to the client.
Research at many of my local archives is carried out without an additional charge for travel. Any travel costs will be discussed with the client before taking on a research project.
Documents are supplied at cost price. Where copies of documents are required and a definite cost of these cannot be determined upfront, the cost will be deducted from the agreed budget and the amount of research reduced on a pro rata basis.
"Thanks, Karen, for dealing with my DNA enquiry. The report that I received was comprehensive, very well presented and was easy to follow. I also appreciate the guidance and advice about the further research that I could do. I would certainly recommend your service and would not hesitate to get in touch again”.
Ian, West Yorkshire
“Thank you so much for the family history research you have completed. I am thrilled with the results, I am so pleased that my family history is so local, and that we remain in the area even though generations have passed. I will definitely come back to you for more research.”
Natalie, Suffolk
